A new paradigm for Practice Management Systems?
by Stephen Moore (CaseCheck)
Stephen Moore comments on Pilgrim's launch of LawSoft Office.
There is one firm I do a lot of work with where LawSoft is the Practice Management System. During the course of my time there I have had occasion to delve deeply into the LawSoft user manuals to determine if and where a particular piece of functionality may reside. On each occasion I have been struck by the fact that there is vast amount of functionality available. Two years ago I think we would have been using 10% of the system’s capabilities, now we are approaching 40%. Is this firm unusual? I don’t think so but it may become so because we (Systems Manager & I) are continually looking at how we can use more and more of LawSoft’s tools. For many firms a basic amount of functionality will be used and they will get no further due to time pressures, requirements and lack of understanding.
